Good advice on finding and filling a temporary position
Here are some tips that we’ve learned from experience. They’ll help you to make the most of your temporary or contract position.
Good attitude: Always be on time – reliability and punctuality are hallmarks of Forsythes Recruitment’s temporary employment service. Listen carefully to instructions and be prepared to ask questions about anything you don’t understand. Don’t complain to your host employer or argue with them. If you have any concerns, call your Forsythes Recruitment consultant.
Be totally reliable: Forsythes Recruitment’s reputation for reliability depends entirely on you. If for any reason – such as ill health or misadventure – you are running late or unable to go to work, you must call our office as early as possible, even out of office hours.
Discretion please: Our policy is to treat all of our temporary employees with respect and dignity and we appreciate their efforts and loyalty. In turn, we ask you to respect the interests of your host employer, our client. Do not gossip, divulge information or discuss, with anyone, things that you do or see on our clients’ premises.
Do your best: Many employers expect poor performance from temporary employees. That’s not Forsythes Recruitment’s way of doing business. We expect all of our temporary employees to work hard and give their very best. Don’t wait around if you have spare time. Offer to help others or seek more work from your supervisor.
Be considerate: We ask you not to smoke during a work period unless your host employer gives permission. For lunch breaks, ask your host when it is convenient for you to go – don’t simply assume it’s OK and go when you choose. Always have your supervisor’s signature on your timesheet authorising overtime, before you work extra hours.
Dress well and enjoy: When you present yourself well, dressed to a high professional standard, you represent our firm well too, and of course that’s what we want you to do. Finally, above all, enjoy your work. Temporary assignments are a great way to widen your skills and experience. And we’re very grateful for the dedicated work you do.
